Resolution 34/169 adopted by the UN General Assembly
Concerning the Code of Conduct for Law Enforcement Officers (in particular article IV)
Resolution 34/169 of 1979 “Code of Conduct for Law Enforcement Officials” raises (in a narrow scope) in Article IV issues concerning questions of personal data protection. It is only a recommendation for officials who, by the nature of their duties, obtain personal data of other persons pertaining to proceeding with these data. The data may be disclosed only for the purposes of realisation of official duties and for the purposes of jurisdiction.
